Sapelia Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the sapelia.com website collects, what we use it for, and what your rights are. If you have any questions, write to contact@sapelia.com.
1. Who we are
Sapelia (“we”) is the controller of the personal data processed through this website. We aim to comply with Brazil’s LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados), the EU’s GDPR, and other applicable data protection laws for visitors from other regions.
2. The free kids area needs no data to be used
The free educational content pages (Learn → math, language arts, history, geography) and the math quiz are free to use, no sign-up required: a child can read the lessons and take the quiz without sending any personal data. Signing in with Google (section 3) is optional and only exists for people who want to save their result history — we recommend that account be created and managed by a parent, guardian, or educator, not by the child directly, and that Google Sign-In follow Google’s own minimum age terms. We do not knowingly (or otherwise) collect personal data from children through this website.

Outside of the optional sign-in, we do not use tracking cookies or analytics at this time. If that changes (for example, if we enable Google Analytics), we will update this policy and ask for your consent before enabling any non-essential tracking.
4. Legal basis and purpose of processing
We process this data based on your consent, given when you voluntarily fill out and submit a form, for the specific purpose of replying to your contact or notifying you about an app launch. We do not use this data for any other purpose, such as unsolicited marketing or selling it to third parties.
5. Who we share data with
- Resend (resend.com) — transactional email delivery service, used to send replies and confirmations. It is a US-based company; the email content passes through its servers for delivery.
- Google — used two ways: (1) Google Sign-In, to authenticate your
account when you choose to sign in to the site (Google shares only your
name, email and public profile photo with us); and (2) Google Cloud /
Firebase, the infrastructure that hosts the site and stores submitted
data (Cloud Firestore,
southamerica-east1region, in Brazil).
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
6. How long we keep data
We keep contact and waitlist data for as long as needed to fulfill its purpose (replying to your message or notifying you about a launch). If you sign in with Google, we keep your profile and quiz history for as long as your account exists; you may request full deletion at any time — see the rights section below.
7. Security
The database (Firestore) uses access rules: contact/waitlist data is only accessed by our Cloud Functions (never directly from the browser); your account data (profile and quiz history) can only be read or written by your own authenticated account — no other user can access it. All communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
8. Your rights
You may, at any time, ask us (contact@sapelia.com) to:
- Confirm whether we process any of your data;
- Access your data;
- Correct incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data;
- Anonymize, block, or delete unnecessary data;
- Port your data to another provider;
- Delete data processed based on your consent;
- Tell you who we’ve shared your data with;
- Withdraw your consent, at any time.
These map to your rights under LGPD (Brazil), GDPR (EU/EEA), and equivalent data protection laws in other jurisdictions.
9. International transfers
Since Resend processes data outside Brazil, there may be an international data transfer limited to the content of the email sent to you or by you through the contact form.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or to applicable law. The last-updated date always appears at the top of this page.
